Samantha is the appointed Instructional Specialist and Co-Owner of Avitir Academy. Her focus is to present and coordinate the IATA Travel and Tourism Foundation Classroom and self-study courses.
Samantha’s love affair with the Aviation industry started in the small town of Richards Bay in 2005.
She qualified for her N7 in Travel and Tourism and shortly afterwards was appointed at a local airline, South African Express Airways.
Samantha quickly mastered various activities and performed roles such as Check-in, passenger boarding, Aircraft Weight and Balance including Reservations and ticketing. Always eager to share her knowledge and guide others, she was actively involved in helping with on-the-job training of staff in these respective areas. Being involved in such a wide variety of activities, this afforded her the opportunity to master airline functions in many different aspects.
Looking for new knowledge and challenges, Samantha redirected her career to working as cabin crew, first for a commercial regional airline, and later for Execujet, being a private international charter airline company, appointed as a VVIP Cabin Crew member.
In this role, Samantha was responsible for onboard safety and hospitality services to the likes of presidents, CEO’s and elite VIP’s. Samantha also played an integral role in facilitating crew training on the CRJ-200 aircraft for Execujet.
Finally she decided to plant her feet firmly on the ground once more and reconnected with Airline operations through working for Emirates and furthered her exposure and experience in International Fares and Ticketing.
With over 11 years experience in the industry, Samantha is now embracing her passion in the training and development sector and has collaborated in a joint venture with AVITIR Academy to deliver Travel and Tourism training for the benefit of those wanting to enter into this exciting career path.
